Bio: Chef, Culinary and Beverage Educator, Food Historian, and Culinary Event Consultant. Chef Annette Tomei graduated from The French Culinary Institute in 1994. She holds a Master’s Degree in Gastronomy from the University of Adelaide with Le Cordon Bleu Australia and an International Spirits Certification from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust. In addition to being a chef, she has been a professional educator with The International Culinary Center and The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone for over 10 years. Chef Tomei teaches and writes about subjects ranging from beverage pairing to aphrodisiac aromas in the kitchen, for professional and amateur audiences from coast to coast. Her wine industry experience includes being the executive chef of Pine Ridge Winery and executive chef of Vinous Catering, working with clients such as Stags Leap Wine Cellars, Vineyard 29, and Chappellet Winery. She also owned a private chef business catering to the wine industry in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as several ski resort communities in Utah. Annette is the co-author of Chile Aphrodisia (Rio Nuevo) and a contributor to Fork Me, Spoon Me: the Sensual Cookbook (Life of Reiley), and Romancing the Stove (Life of Reiley, 2012). Her most recent venture is A-List Culinary Events, specializing in event coordination for the top chefs, sommeliers and F&B businesses around the world.
