My favorite soup at the end of summer when corn is at its peak for flavor. Steeping the cobs really adds some serious corn flavor.

You will want to have a few hundred gallons of this in the freezer. It’s just that good- the smoothest ever soup with the essence of butternut squash and a hint of sweetness.

This is the quintessential macaroni salad for your summer bbq. Tangy and crunchy. This salad is destined to be part of your bbq arsenal. Don’t rinse the pasta after boiling-the starch on the pasta will help the dressing adhere to the pasta!

A deeply complex tasting sauce…well worth the time and effort to make. This is a great dish to make on a lazy Sunday. Makes unbelievable leftovers. If you have the time make this 1 day ahead and let all those delicious flavors marry overnight.

An easy stock that can be used for chicken soup and for many sauces and recipes. This stock is easy to make and will give you sauces a depth of flavor unattainable from store bought. Remember not to let your stock boil, as this will create a cloudy stock that will look unappetizing when you use it in soups.

Nothing could be better than brisket braised in bourbon and beer. Even though its not bourbon, I like to use Jack Daniels because it imparts a caramel flavor to the meat and I use a nice dark stout or porter beer here as well. This dish goes great with roasted potatoes or smashed and fried potatoes or the cheesy polenta.
